Teksid

Using the Six Sigma Methodology, Teksid succeeded over the years, to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimizing variability in the manufacturing processes, resulting in excellent quality of its products.

The Six Sigma Methodology uses a set of quality management tools, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts", "Green Belts", etc.) who are experts in these methods.

The focus is to reduce the standard deviation which, in turn, is a measure of variability of a data set. If the variability is small, the standard deviation is low. If the variability is large, the standard deviation is high. For a process to achieve excellence, their variability should be low. This assessment is made by sigma value, a mathematical symbol for dispersion.

Teksid do Brasil has machining centers that can be used for qualifying or pre-machining of automotive parts such as cylinder blocks and heads.

The exclusive Teksid HPI alloy was specially developed for the production of cylinder blocks and heads used in new-generation engines, which requires high performance and power, and low fuel consumption and emissions.

HPI offers all the normal characteristics of traditional gray and vermicular iron alloys, with enhanced mechanical and physical properties.

In 2010, the HPI alloy gave to earned Teksid do Brasil the nomination for the AutoData Award in the Technological Innovation category, which recognizes companies that stands out in the Brazilian automotive sector.

Teksid is a pioneer in the technology necessary for the acquisition of liquid pig iron from an external supplier, offering advantages to the customer with product improvement and achieving reduction in energy consumption.

This process, pioneered in 1988, was fully developed by Teksid and it allows considerable improvements in the quality of castings, increases in productivity and savings of up to 32% in the power consumption without any need to increase installed capacity.
